Catie Newell: Salvaged Landscape from Imagination Station on Vimeo.
Editor's Note: Rita blogged earlier some still images of artist Catie Newell's installation at the Imagination Station in Detroit, where Newell used as raw materials the wood burned by arson from building next to the Imagination Station. She used the burned materials to construct an art installation. Detroit cinematographer Stephen McGee has posted a rough cut video tour of the installation. It's pretty amazing. We've added it to the top of the original post.

The Imagination Station in Corktown, Detroit, is morphing into a digital media literacy center and a world-class public art space. Reclamation by Marianne Burrows was the first work created at the Imagination Station. Catie Newell's mesmerizing installation, Salvaged Landscapes, opened last night. The above picture is what I saw the first time I visited the Imagination Station. The progress since has been spectacular. The below images, courtesy of the artist, are as gorgeous as the work of Andy Goldsworthy.
