Critics fear the game will fuel religious violence while game makers point out that such violence already exists.Religious groups are angered over an Italian game, Faith Fighter, that pits respective saviors, sages and prophets against each other, fearing that it will incite violence.
The Italy-based game company responsible for Faith Fighter, Molleindustria, says the fighter exists to “push gamers to reflect on how sacred representations are often used to fuel or justify conflicts between people."
True, but Faith Fighter certainly won't help.

I'd have no problem with the statement that this game is obnoxious, or disrespectful, or mean, or whatever. But suggesting that it shouldn't be produced because it might incite violence really worries me.
It seems to be rewarding the violent, by saying "oh, if you threaten to riot and burn down buildings if we do X, we will stop doing X, even if X is entirely within our rights."
If there are people who react with physical violence to certain writings or images, the problem is *with that reaction*, not with the writings or images. We should educate people that the proper response to words is words, not keep silent for fear of violent reactions.
