
While the world economy is in a very visible tailspin, Raph Koster, designer of seminal games like Star Wars Galaxies and founder of virtual world company Metaplace, just last week received $6.7 million in new funding for his virtual worlds company.
As if that isn't a wake-up call to the potential for this space, IBM's Rob Smart is quoted in an article today about the second coming of virtual worlds.
We'll write more later about the changing global economy. What's at work here is yet another example of how creativity and art in the Imagination Age are demonstrating how the economy is not collapsing, but transforming.
