Yes! We love to see the continuous evolution of IBM's virtual Forbidden City--(not just because I wrote this report, "From the Fire Pit to the Forbidden City: the Evolution of IBM's Virtual Universe Community,") but because we are major supporters of the concept of virtual tourism for cultural and economic development. (To explore the idea that virtual platforms can be regarded as emerging labor markets, check out "The Power of Collaboration" written for Manpower Inc. to mark the occasion of the company's first year in the metaverse. Watch videos here and here).
We just finished the first draft of our policy recommendation report stemming from the Understanding Islam through Virtual Worlds project, which was, at its core, nearly a year of virtual tourism into the mosques, community centers, Ramadan tents and homes of Muslims in the metaverse. More on that soon!
